COBRR006 - Section - Nakatomi Plaza - Out December 11th 2006
A - Original Mix
Nakatomi Plaza, the second instalment of the Too Cool for Nu Skool
trilogy finds Control Breaks in seasonal form with this prime cut of
funked
up party breaks. Uplifting synths underpinned by soulful vocals
characterise
this cracking return from label boss Andy Brookes aka Section.
AA - Strider Remix
Having broken Strider onto the scene in late June with his first
vinyl
release 'Run', Control Breaks assign him his first task as remix
artist. Turning the party vibe up to 11 the welsh wonder boy slices and dices
this
track into a veritable chop suey of filthy breakbeat action!
Reaction to 'Nakatomi Plaza':
"Crunchier than honey roasted cashews and twice as tasty" - IDJ 4/5

COBRR005 - Dekoy - Bump It Up - Out October 9th 2006
A - Original Mix
Bump It Up is the first release from latest signing Dekoy, he hits the ground running with a generous helping of rough, peak time, big room breakbeat. A filthy, wobbly bassline weaves between metallic cuts and crushed noise, a killer vocal sample and wicked synths bring bounce to the commotion.
AA - Porno Breaks Remix
The Porno Breaks boys are back on Control with this sinister reworking that sits on the flipside. It's a piece of dark, futuristic breakstep set to explode on the more nastier breaks floors.
Reaction to 'Bump It Up':
"Bound to do well right across the board" - IDJ 4/5
"Love the Porno Breaks mix. My kind of breakbeat." - Tayo

COBRR004 - Strider - Run - Out June 19th 2006
A - Original Mix
Run is the first release from latest signing Ben Watts and is a dead cert to do the business all over the country this summer. Big old school drums kick things off before some seriously infectious acid squelchiness drops in. From here on Run develops into a master class of combining melodies, squeaks & bleeps to create a thick sonic soup before the whole lot suddenly plunges toward the final drop.
AA - Tom Real Remix
Tom Real introduces us to a very different monster on the flip side, the beeps give way to overdriven guitars and dark electro rumblings, the result is a truly original breaks release not quite like anything you’ve heard before. Samples and big bass guitar noise assault the eardrums driving the tune on at a breakneck pace until the hook drops in and the mayhem begins afresh.
Reaction to 'Run':
"Liking the Tom Real mix. Good energy......I'll definitely play it out." - Adam Freeland
"It's a rocker with a tipped out, fucked up breakdown...hold on tight!" - IDJ 4/5
"Filthy!!!!!I'll be playing this one for sure" - Friendly
"Strider is definitely a man to watch.....'Run' hits the floor well running" - Blowback
"Solid dancefloor business. Tom Real's mix is a dancefloor winner.....Another good release for the Control Freaks!!" - Pete Jordan, Spectrum
"The Tom Real mix is fucking incredible" - General Midi
"Proper Rood!" - Aquasky

COBRR003 - Porno Breaks - 8 Girl Orgy - Out April 3rd 2006
A - Original Mix
The Porno boys are set to raise temperatures on the dance floor with this cheeky little number, their third from the control breaks catalogue. Mixing up styles has become the Porno Breaks trademark and '8 Girl Orgy' is no different. Following on the from the mighty 'Dr Satan' , ' 8 Girl Orgy' emphasises the off beat and mixes tech sounds with a harder breakbeat ethos. The infectious bass line is guaranteed to put a bounce onto any dance floor.
AA - Merka Remix
Remix duties go to Merka for the flip side. Filtered acid lines over a bowl loosening bass are the ingredients that make up this must have piece of vinyl. Merka twists the original elements into an electro infused primetime killer. Watch your bass bins!
Reaction to '8 Girl Orgy':
“Breaks, house, techno – call it what you want, this rocks” – Larry Nelson in IDJ
“Merka scores with big beats, spacey electronics, intricate percussion, space invader FX and a wicked burbling bassline” – Carl Loben in DJ mag
“Original mix is full on porn, well programmed and nicely arranged, another top release from Control!” - Hexadecimal
“The orginal mix is a stomper – definitely going to get the crowd marching....terrific!” - Pete Jordan, Spectrum

COBRR002 - Section 63/Porno Breaks vs Day Walka - In Yer Section\Dr Satan - Out October 2005
A - In Yer Section
Section 63 explores the darker territory with this second release. Mixing trance with tearout ‘In yer Section’ rolls through a melodic intro into a heavyweight bass line before hitting the reveller with it’s leg-loosening breakdown.
As the next break approaches, melodic motifs are re-introduced as the vocal bounces percussively. The final break is guaranteed the full attention of the crowd as the stripped back bass line drops in aggressively.
AA - Dr Satan
As the title suggests ‘Dr Satan’ is a low down dark and dirty number that doesn’t hold back on the eerie sounds. Porno Breaks’ D:K:S teams up with Day Walka, aka Dean Trussler, for this four to the floor breaks house stormer.
Floating sounds evoke a false sense of calm before the twisting bass line breaks the crowd into the porno boys toughest joint yet. The second breakdown briefly relieves the pressure before coming straight back more mighty than before.
Reaction to 'Dr Satan' and 'In Yer Section':
Andy Gardner (Plump DJs) - 'A quality tune.'
Hexadecimal - 'Tried and tested breaks-4/4 crossover action' also charted in their DJ mag chart.
Tom Real in M8 Magazine - 'This we like, we like it lot....could possibly be their finest work to date...8/8'
Pete Jordan (Spectrum, Nottingham) - 'Great fun - full on peak time killer.'

COBRR001 - Porno Breaks\Section 63 - Rhythm Schism\Catchfire - Out July 2005
A - Rhythm Schism The Porno Breaks boys cum good with their first ever release especially for the five am crowd with a rolling bass line and spooky samples. Starting off deep and dark, the vocal sample drops in and out of the mix, winding up the tension and breaking with a clash of drums. The pace doesn't let up as the boys layer relentless beats over spaced out noises. Intended for the headstrong only.
AA - Catchfire A solid breakbeat groover from Section 63 in the shape of his first release 'Catchfire' which features spine tingling vocals from Christina Chrysanthou over a bouncy bassline. Building momentum eerily before the main synth comes in and the tune breaks, the vocals enter the mix propelling the tune towards the second break, synthlines then intertangle towards a stomping conclusion. Drop it!
